Students to compete in 24-hour innovation race
On April 4-6, students from Jönköping University will compete in the JIBS Entrepreneurship Challenge, a 24-hour innovation race for a prize pool of 130,000 SEK. After two years of competing just digitally, the students will be able to take part in a physical pitch again this year.
Many visitors on campus for JU’s Open House
Aproximately 1,000 people visited the Open House event at Jönköping University's (JU) campus on 19 March. There was also a live broadcast during the event where viewers could find out more about JU’s four schools, their educations and student life at JU. The live broadcast can now be seen on JU's Youtube channel.
Almost twice as many applicants for this year's summer courses
The number of applicants for this year's summer courses at Jönköping University (JU) has increased with 94 percent, from 625 people last year to 1 213 this year, according to figures from Swedish Council for Higher Education. JU thus has the second highest increase of all universities in Sweden.
JU submits application for the first new dental education in 50 years
On 15 March, Jönköping University submitted an application to start a dental education together with Linköping University and Jönköping County Region. More than half of Sweden's regions will also participate in the cooperation.“This first new dentistry programme in over 50 years will create the conditions for more equal dental care, improved dental health and an increased number of dentists throughout Sweden,” says Agneta Marell, President at Jönköping University.
Students give their picture of JU in new YouTube series
The applications period is now open and to help prospective students decide on their future place of study, Jönköping University (JU) has launched a new YouTube series – Point of JU External link, opens in new window.. In a series of conversations, JU students talk to each other about everything from what it’s like to study at JU, their experiences of student life and their dreams for the future. The concept has proved popular with already 700 views for the first episode and signs of strong viewing figures to come.
JU’s Open House back on campus
Jönköping University (JU) will open its doors on 19 March for curious prospective students who want to find out more about the university and its education programmes. This is the first time since 2019 that Open House has been able to take place physically on campus. In both 2020 and 2021, Open House was carried out digitally due to coronavirus pandemic restrictions.

Eva Gipperth has been appointed University Director at Jönköping University (JU) and will take up the position on 15 August 2022.
