Three research and innovation projects with JU awarded over SEK 15 million
The Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth contributes over SEK 15 million to three research and innovation projects in which Jönköping University (JU) participates.“This is great news that shows the breadth and societal benefit of our activities,” says Ingrid Wadskog, Managing Director and Dean at the School of Engineering (JTH), Jönköping University, which participates in all three projects.
Andreas Rangert, Husqvarna, is Bridge Builder of the Year
On Saturday 25 March, this year's edition of the Jönköping Gala took place where Jönköping University (JU) awarded the Bridge Builder of the Year Award to Andreas Rangert, Head of Development at Husqvarna. At the gala, JU also won the Meeting and Event of the Year Award and the JU Solar Team project was presented on stage during the festivities.
JU Solar Team aims for gold with their new solar car
The JU Solar Team is aiming for gold in Bridgestone World Solar Challenge in Australia with their new solar car, which is named Axelight and was unveiled on 22 March.
JU’s district nursing education receives high rating
The specialist nursing education at the School of Health and Welfare, Jönköping University (JU) , which has a focus on district nursing, has been rated as "high quality" after an assessment by the Swedish Higher Education Authority (UKÄ). In the assessment, UKÄ looked at four different areas of the programme. All of the areas received a satisfactory result.
JIBS-researcher rewarded €100,000
Per Davidsson, Professor in Entrepreneurship at Jönköping International Business School, has been named the 2023 winner of the Global Award for Entrepreneurship, widely regarded as the world's most prestigious award in entrepreneurship research with a prize sum of 100,000 euros. According to the Prize Motivation, Per Davidsson receives the award "for his role as a pioneer of influential and high-quality research contributions and as a community builder in the entrepreneurship field."
Around 1,500 people visited Open House at JU
Around 1,500 people visited the Open House at Jönköping University (JU) on 11 March.“There was a fantastic influx of visitors and a substantial increase compared to last year and the year before the pandemic,” says Anders Wadell, project manager for Open House.

Jönköping International Business School (JIBS) and the School of Health and Welfare at JU also offer summer courses.
Nextstep connects job-seeking students with global companies.
On Tuesday, 7 March, the annual career fair Nextstep took place at Jönköping University (JU). 43 international and national companies gathered at Campus Arena to meet with JU students and discuss the career opportunities awaiting them after graduation.
Young Female Leader of the Year 2022 announced
In the evening of 2 March, the big award ceremony was held at restaurant Småland at Elmia in Jönköping where the winner of Young Female Leader of the Year was announced. The winner is Eliza Sjöberg, IT and Administration Director at Flintab AB. Jönköping University is a partner to Young Female Leader of the Year.
